The Mandalorian‘s Worst Season Is Coming to Blu-Ray

Good news! Disney is continuing with its trend of nice, 4K UHD steelbook releases of its original streaming shows, just in case the House of Mouse ever decides to go on another Disney+ deletion spree. Bad news! The time has come to ask ourselves the most enduring of questions: is The Mandalorian season 3 worth more of your hard-earned dollars beyond a Disney+ subscription?

Today Disney announced that its latest round of UHD steelbook releases will bring another four seasons of TV to physical release later this year. The latest round includes two Star Wars and two Marvel offerings: The Mandalorian completes its current run with the arrival of season 3 alongside Ahsoka‘s debut season, while the MCU offers Hawkeye season one and Loki season 2. As has been the trend with these releases, the steelbooks come with new artwork, art cards, and a round of bonus features for each release (with plenty more on offer for the two Marvel shows, including deleted scenes). Here’s the individual breakdown for each release:

The Mandalorian Season 3 Bonus Features

Ahsoka Season 1 Bonus Features

Hawkeye Season 1 Bonus Features

Loki Season 2 Bonus Features

It’ll be nice, at least, that ahead of The Mandalorian & Grogu‘s release next year the complete story of Din and Grogu will be available physically (well, give or take a few episodes of The Book of Boba Fett). That’s just about the only nice thing about the prospect of revisiting The Mandalorian‘s aimless third season at least, as the show wandered around reverting many of the interesting choices it had made across its first two seasons to deliver a show that left us with a lot more questions than any tangible answers, including if this was all worth ultimately scuppering the narrative of two shows to get us ready for what’s next.

That will be a question we ultimately see answered on the big screen, but for now, you can prepare yourself when the 4K UHD releases of The Mandalorian Season 3, Ahsoka Season 1, Hawkeye Season 1, and Loki Season 2 go up for pre-order on October 31, ahead of a US release December 3.
