Software-update: Beyond Compare 5.1.1

Scooter Software heeft versie 5.1.1 van Beyond Compare uitgebracht. Met dit zeer uitgebreide programma, dat beschikbaar is voor Windows, Linux en macOS, kunnen bestanden met elkaar worden vergeleken. Daarnaast is het mogelijk om complete mappen, FTP-locaties en archieven te vergelijken. Beyond Compare is beschikbaar in een standaard- en een pro-uitvoering, voor prijzen die beginnen bij 35 dollar. Notable Changes
  • Updated unrar to v7.12 (Windows DLL) and v7.1.8 (macOS/Linux source), fixing a path extraction vulnerability.
  • Linux: Creating an empty /etc/default/bcompare file will prevent the .rpm package from adding the Beyond Compare repository.
  • Linux: Launcher script now sets QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb to improve behavior under Wayland.

  • Windows: Fixed Folder Compare > Session Settings > Misc > Enabled file formats list view appearance when toggling checkboxes in dark mode.
  • macOS: Fixed Profiles > Server > Time zone combobox drawing the focus ring at the wrong position, not clipping long text early enough, and not changing to gray when the window is inactive.
  • Fixed dark mode "binary differences" icon using a different red than "differences" one, and fixed the 100% scaling "differences" one using a darker red than the rest of the sizes.

  • Improved Python file format number grammar to make decimal point optional.

  • Fixed "Copy to Other Side" icon not reflecting the current selection after using "Swap Sides" while an orphan was selected.

  • Linux: Creating an empty /etc/default/bcompare file will prevent the .rpm package from adding the Beyond Compare repository.

  • Linux: Launcher script now sets QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb to improve behavior under Wayland.
  • macOS/Linux: Added "Explore settings folder" link to Help > Support dialog.
  • Linux: Updated readme with supported distros and instructions for RHEL10.
  • Improved list table controls fitting all columns into view.
  • Added indicator of where an item will be moved to when dragging to rearrange items in some list boxes.

  • Restored behavior of resizing a column scrolling left and repositioning the mouse cursor when necessary.

  • Default to neutral language version info instead of current language, matching Windows behavior since Vista.
