Tank Slappers: 2025 Thailand Grand Prix review

Autosport's MotoGP podcast, Tank Slappers, has returned for the 2025 season which commenced last weekend in Thailand. Dre Harrison is now hosting and he was joined by Autosport's chief motorsport writer Ben Hunt and MotoGP correspondent Oriol Puigdemont in the first episode of 2025

The 2025 MotoGP season got underway in Thailand last weekend where Marc Marquez dominated on his factory Ducati debut.

He won the sprint race and grand prix in a dream weekend for the six-time champion, while younger brother Alex finished runner-up in both contests.

So, how impressive were Marc’s performances? In contrast, it was a concerning weekend for his new team-mate Francesco Bagnaia who finished third in both events.

The two-time champion narrowly missed out on a third, straight title in 2024 meaning this year is big for him, yet how worrying was Bagnaia’s start?

All of that and more is discussed in the first Tank Slappers episode of 2025, as there is also the discussion of rookie Ai Ogura.

The Trackhouse rider impressed in Thailand finishing fifth in the grand prix, meaning he could already be Aprilia’s star man in the absence of reigning world champion Jorge Martin - the factory rider who is currently injured.

Yamaha and Honda are also discussed concerning the form of the championship’s bottom two manufacturers and if they have closed the gap to the top.
