Solar Opposites fans tune in for the aliens-on-Earth hijinks courtesy of Korvo (Dan Stevens), Terry (Thomas Middleditch), and the rest of the Shlorpians—but they also know the real drama all happens on a very small scale. Thanks to a shrink ray, there’s also a community of teeny-tiny humans living in the aliens’ home, and season five will expand a new landscape for them to explore.
You’ve seen the Wall. You’ve thrilled to its revolutions, religious cults, maniacal dictators, and unlikely heroes. You’re still having feels over Molly the Mouse. But are you even ready to handle the Yard? While we’ve glimpsed a few characters dwelling outdoors in previous seasons of Solar Opposites, season five opens up the vast realm of the Shlorpians’ suburban backyard, a place where abandoned basketballs, birdhouses, and other forgotten items form the foundation of an entire civilization.
This exclusive clip from episode three, “Live Die Repeat Device,” offers a quick glimpse into one corner of the Yard, and introduces a character you’ll be seeing a lot more of as season five progresses.
Watch all of Solar Opposites season five starting August 12 on Hulu; there’s also a Halloween special coming later this fall.
