Shawn Levy Teases His Mysterious Star Wars Movie

Matthew Lillard has an update on the Five Nights at Freddy’s sequel. Get a creeping tease of Steven Soderbergh’s haunted house movie, Presence. Plus, get another look at Rick & Morty: The Anime. Spoilers, away!

R.U.R.

Deadline reports Mallory Jansen and Anthony LaPaglia have joined the cast of Alex Proyas’ upcoming film adaptation of Karel Capek’s R.U.R.. Jansen will play Helena, a woman who “visits the island factory of Rossum’s Universal Robots to emancipate the robots from capitalist exploitation, with catastrophic results.”

Shawn Levy’s Star Wars

During his recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast (via Screen Rant), Shawn Levy confirmed his upcoming Star Wars film is being written with “specific actors in mind.”

Wow! You’re asking the right questions. Sort of, yes. Please don’t ask a follow-up!

He also further added that he wants the film to not feel “redundant” to the world of Star Wars:

I’ll say that the experience of crafting this story has forced me to think about that question. Because there’s only so many times that Star Wars movies can revisit the same section of the timeline, and so it’s really forced me–because I don’t want to do a Star Wars movie that is redundant to others, nor am I interested in doing one that has to serve another movie.

Army of the Dead

According to a new article from The Wrap, Netflix has “quietly canceled” Zack Snyder’s planned Army of the Dead animated series and universe, “along with [all] plans for subsequent films.”

Ballerina

In a new interview with Screen Rant, Ballerina co-star David Castañeda promised the upcoming John Wick spinoff will include “a lot of one-takes.”

Oh, man. It’s going to be exactly what you like about John Wick. A lot of fighting; a lot of intricate stunts. There’s a lot of one-takes, I think, but also an incredible amount of craftsmanship. I believe it’s going to be great. At least, the experience was phenomenal.

Kraven the Hunter

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2

Matthew Lillard revealed he’s filming Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 “this October” during a recent interview with Youtube’s JayBee & Milly.
