A New Paddington Trailer Is Here to Bring Joy to the World

In today’s day and age, there are very few universal truths everyone can agree on. But one that is irrefutable and boundless is that Paddington is a delight. And so, what better way to jump-start your day than the teaser trailer for the upcoming third Paddington film, Paddington in Peru?

Paddington in Peru opens in the U.S. on January 17 and brings back stars such as Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, and Jim Broadbent, while adding the likes of Imelda Staunton, Olivia Colman, Antonio Banderas, and Emily Mortimer. Ben Whishaw, of course, also returns as the voice of Paddington. This time, director Paul King steps away and leaves the film in the hands of Dougal Wilson, who makes his feature film debut. From the looks of this teaser, he’s got that tone just right though.

As we said, that teaser is just a delight. The marmalade sandwich, the passport photo, it’s all fantastic. But, some of you might be thinking, “Isn’t this a little familiar? Aren’t teaser trailers the first look at a movie? Why am I getting déjà vu?” Well, it’s because while Paddington in Peru opens in the U.S. on January 17, it opens in the U.K. on November 8 so the marketing cycle is a bit further along there. Case in point, here’s another, longer, trailer that came out a few weeks ago that has elements of the U.S. teaser.

While the U.S. one is just a tease, this gets much more into the adventures Paddington will find himself on in Peru. And frankly, we cannot wait.
