Good news, people of Earth: your favorite Shlorpians will be extending their visit awhile longer. Solar Opposites‘ San Diego Comic-Con panel just revealed the show will return for a sixth season! But first, season five is on the horizon, with a first trailer arriving today ahead of its premiere next month.
The official synopsis: “On season five, now that alien mission partners Terry and Korvo are married, the whole Solar Opposites team are focused on family values.” Of course, if you know this show, “family values” will 100 percent turn out to be something they misunderstand and misinterpret, hilariously. (No matter the context, “We can solve this with sci-fi!” always fits).
Also: it looks like we’ll be getting an intriguing twist in the high drama of the Wall, Solar Opposites‘ soap opera-within-a-comedy about the tiny people trapped inside the walls of the alien home.
Hulu also announced that Solar Opposites will be releasing a special Halloween episode as part of season five, in the show’s ongoing tradition of marking holidays with alien hijinks. This will actually be its second Halloween special; there’s also been a Christmas tribute as well as, earlier this year, a takedown of Valentine’s Day.
Solar Opposites stars Dan Stevens as Korvo, Thomas Middleditch as Terry, Mary Mack as Jessie, and Sean Giambrone as Yumyulack. It’s executive produced by Mike McMahan and Josh Bycel. Look out for season five on Hulu August 12.
