When you think about end-of-the-world, post-apocalyptic stories, you think about a lack of food. A lack of water. A lack of sun or a lack of power. However, all those stories have one thing in common. The characters can breathe.
That’s not the case in the upcoming post-apocalyptic sci-fi film Breathe, starring Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson and sci-fi icon Milla Jovovich. In Breathe, the world has been destroyed and left uninhabitable due to a lack of oxygen. The last remaining survivors live underground, only coming to the surface when absolutely necessary. On one of these trips, a mother (Hudson) and her daughter (Quvenzhané Wallis from Beasts of the Southern Wild) encounter two strangers (Jovovich and Raúl Castillo) who claim to know their husband/father. A man who, it just so happens, was working on a special suit before his alleged death.
That meeting between the stars is the pivotal moment in the film and io9 is excited to have the scene for you to exclusively watch right here.
